Fall Fishing on Big Bass Lake is excellent as walleye, northern, 1 pound bluegill, jumbo perch, largemouth bass and crappie are all gorging themselves on just about whatever they can find in preparation for the long winter ahead. Hunting opportunities also abound during Fall in the Northwoods. The Grand Rapids area has 22 ski areas with over 200 miles of groomed trails in a variety of terrains that will satisfy the beginner, intermediate and expert skier. There is also nothing wrong with spending the weekend by the fireplace with a good book taking in the solitude and majesty of the northwoods during this beautiful time of year.
